i'm held by your love

lately, i have been listening to the song “I’m held by your love” by new creation church (thanks fool 17 for sendin me), and today it dawned on me that my relationship with God (before i came to know Him) is like somewhat like - the parable of the lost son (or daughter, hah!). speaks of a father who loved his son so much that he willingly let him go even though it pains him, which reminds me of a quote i seen somewhere, not exactly in the actual words but goes like this

sometimes God will send fire, wind, thunder to get our attention
sometimes he will speak to us in a whisper
but sometimes he will be silent, standing quietly at a corner to watch even though he sees us making a mistake

because he knows that it is when we fall, that we will learn and grow though painful, it’s necessary

how amazing is that?
well, back to the song, the part that caught my eye was

cherished by you, Lord, treasured in your sight
so close to Your heart, held firm by Your hands

even though sometimes i am like the unfilial child who went astray, yet He never fails to disregard me but still treats me like his precious child despite of the many wrongs in our lifes.
like the father in the parable, our father in heaven reaches out to us daily, so lets run to him with all the strength and joy we have…

father, embrace us in our daily run towards drawing closer to you
pick us up tenderly when we fall and guide us with your hand as we surrender our lives to you, this we pray. amen
