It's Hard To Say Goodbye

Not too long ago, I was privileged to be at Changi Airport T1.
As I was there waiting to enter the depature hall, there in front of me was a flurry of activity.
With a cuppa in one hand, I laid back lazily in the couch to take in all's that happening.
People from all walks of life coming together in this single place and then departing for another destination.

Teary-eyed parents bidding goodbye to their children who's leaving for overseas studies, couples whispering their sweet goodbyes, the thought of a loved one leaving makes the heart shudder.

Why is it so hard to say Goodbye?

Goodbye as defined

goodbye |ˌgoŏdˈbī| (also good-bye or goodby or good-by)
exclamation
used to express good wishes when parting or at the end of a conversation.
noun ( pl. -byes |gʊdˈbaɪz| or -bys)
an instance of saying “goodbye”; a parting : a final goodbye.

Its ironic how a single word Goodbye can invoke such connotations.

Isn't life like that sometimes?
Where you have to say Goodbye unexpectedly to someone?
The sudden departure of a loved one.
The loss of a friend.
The moving-on phrase of one's life.

It's hard saying Goodbye.
